Ogun Deputy Gov Enjoins Muslim Faithful To Celebrate Sallah With Moderation

The Ogun State Deputy-Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has enjoined Muslim faithful as well as residents of the state to see this year’s Eid-El- Kabir festivity as a period to celebrate, remember all the requirements of Allah, ask for the forgiveness of their sins and seek Allah to grant their heart desires.

Salako- Oyedele gave the charge, while speaking with newsmen during the Eid-El- Kabir prayers held at Ota Eid  Praying Ground, Akeja in Ota Local Government Area of the State, saying that people should reflect on the season and celebrate with moderation.

According to her, “I enjoin all citizens to see this period as a time of celebration and reflection, how we can do things better and obey the rules of God, rules of the land and to make ourselves better human beings in this world and the world after.

The Deputy-Governor also advised the people to celebrate with caution, in a way that is spiritually uplifting.

“I wish everybody many more years, to witness, many more celebrations in good health and prosperity. I pray for the State and our governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for Almighty Allah to guide him in all that he is doing. We should also use this opportunity to pray for the security of our State and remember all our people in Hajj, that Almighty will accept their dawah and make it an acceptable hajj,“ she stated.

In his goodwill message, the Olota of Ota, Oba Abdukabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, expressed appreciation to Allah for witnessing another year and advised all the indigenes of Ota and Sango to see themselves as one and he noted that unity and peace remained the bedrock of socio-economic development.

Earlier in his sermon, the Chief Imam of Awori land, Imam Sadiku Buhari, charged all Muslims to use their wealth to propagate Islam in order to make it more rewarding and acceptable in the sight of Almighty.

He added that all acquired wealth and positions were vanity, adding that rendering selfless service to Allah is the most rewarding.
