ILARO-YEWA: The Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle (MFR) has shown his displeasure on how the past administration of Yewa South local government in Ogun State should rent out the Women Vocational Centre in Ilaro to a group of people that now turned the place to a clubhouse.

Oba Olugbenle stated this on Thursday, January 23, 2020 while paying host to the newly sworn-in Yewa South Local Government Caretaker Transition Committee in his palace at Ilaro, advising the Chairman not to play politics with his office.

He called on the Chairman and his team to do something urgently on the Women Vocational Centre, Ilaro which is now turned into a clubhouse by some people.

His words, “it is very sad that the Women Vocational Centre in Ilaro is now a beer parlor in the name of clubbing. It is very sad that the past administration in Yewa South local government could rent out the place for such activities, thereby denying many women and youths the opportunity of benefiting from the purpose which the centre was established for.

“I learnt it was the late wife of Gen. Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida (rtd) that donated the centre foir us in Yewa South, and equipped it with different types of machine for the training of women and youths in various vocational training.

“But it’s annoying and aching to note that the local government, in connivance with some indigenes and non-indigene of the area now turned where we used to empower our children to where they now drink beer and entertaining women of easy virtues.

“I felt sad the day I saw it that the Women Vocational Centre, Ilaro has been turned into a clubhouse. I am not against the local government generating money, but it should not be our vocational centre where we empower our children. I learnt that the club rent out the place against the earlier place the people paid for.

“It will be very sad if Governor Capo Abiodun should hear that the Women Vocational Centre, Ilaro has been turned to a clubhouse. It would have been better if it’s another productive venture the place is being used for.”

Oba Olugbenle however advised the chairman to look into this issue and do the needful to correct the abnormality.

In his response, the transition Chairman, Alhaji Rahmon Olabode Fagbenro who appreciated the Paramount Ruler for been father to the people of Yewaland, assured that his administration would do her best to resolve the situation with a view to bring back the glory of the Women Vocational Centre, Ilaro.

While promising his administration’s quest to give people of the area, a lease of life, Alhaji Fagbenro implored the first class monarch to accord his administration the necessary assistance, especially in the area of given them advice that would help the team to achieve success in their new assignment.
