ABEOKUTA: The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured opposition parties in the state of his administration’s readiness to form a synergy between Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC).
The Governor made the assurance on Tuesday November 5, 2019, when executives and members of IPAC in the state paid him a courtesy visit in his Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta office.
IPAC is the umbrella body of all political parties in Nigeria.
As a way of ensuring all-inclusive government, Abiodun said his administration would set up an intra-IPAC administrative team to interface between the government and the opposition parties.
He stressed that, it is in the interest of the state that everyone works together and share collective wisdom to transform the state.
“If we indeed have the interest of this state, we must come together to work together. We must be able to try something and share collective wisdom to transform the state.
“I want to enjoin you to find a way in moving this state together. We are ready and determined to ensure that, we are all inclusive, we will se up a team which I called Intra-IPAC Administrative Team which will interface between us and IPAC on issues bothering on grassroots development because you are closer to the people.”
Speaking earlier, the state IPAC Chairman, Comrade Abayomi Arabambi commended governor Abiodun for the level of determination and special courage in confronting and putting right many wrong policies of the past administration.
Arabambi maintained that, the inadequacies and biases of the past government have been visited with proper and needful correction with strong conviction and trust in justice.
“At this juncture, we in IPAC ,Ogun State strongly recommend the establishment of a joint government/IPAC platform for an inclusive partnership that will depict truth, vision and capacity through which farmers, students, working class, professionals, intellectuals, women, youths and the oppressed will find beneficial and comfortable accommodation.
“Again, we commend you and your government for the demonstration of doggedness, determination and a special courage with which you have engaged in confronting and putting right the very many wrong policies of the past that had been responsible for the many failures of governance in Ogun state, the inadequacies and lack of the past, the tendencies and biases of the past have all been visited with proper and needful correction, substantially by your government with strong conviction and trust in justice.”
