ISARA: The Chairman of Remo North Local Government Transition Committee, Hon. Michael Abiodun Somoye, on Monday, 6th April, 2020 took delivery of Two Thousand, Five Hundred (2,500) packs of food items, allocated to the LG, by the state government, to cushion the economic effects of the on going stay at home directive, in order to stop further transmission of Coronavirus scourge in the state.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Oladipo Oluwole, Director of Information, Remo North L.G, Isara in line with the directive of the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, to urgently distribute the relief materials to the poor and the vulnerable people in the society, the Chairman directed that 250 packs be taken, for on the spot distribution, to each household in Orile-Oko town, in the LG area, as a flag off, of the palliative program, in the local government, area.
While leading the monitoring, supervising & distribution teams to Orile-Oko, the chairman admonished every member of the groups to always display fairness, justice, equity and refrain from religious, political or any other consideration, in the distribution of the relief package.
At Orile-Oko, the chairman & members of the teams, used the occasion to further enlighten the people, on the symptoms associated with Covid-19 and precautionary measures to curtail the spread of Coronavirus menace.
Hon. Somoye, finally urged the people to keep to the stay at home directive and adhere strictly to the guidelines, already outlined, for the lockdown period.
As a way of ensuring a seamless distribution exercise in the Local Government Area, the Stimulus Package Distribution Committee earlier constituted, comprising members of the Transition Committee, leadership of CDC, CAN, Baale, League of Imams & Alfas, Iyalojas , babalojas and headed by the LG Chairman, had last week, set up sub committees in ten areas of the LG.
The flag off ceremony was witnessed by the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimat Salako-Oyedele, who graciously and generously brought packs of Indomie and bottle waters to the poorest of the poor.
The Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape, and a Director, in the Ministry, Mr. Adesanya, Representative of Remo North Local Government, in the State House Of Assembly, Hon. Solomon Oluwaseyi Osho, Members of the Local Government Transition Committee and the local government HOLGA, Mrs. Bola Oshin were also at the event.
