Harbour Criminals And Face The Wrath Of The Law, Dapo Abiodun Tells Landlords, Property Owners… Praises Police, Other Security Agencies For Effective Services

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has broken his silence over the security challenges in the country, especially the recent kidnapping of a Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Minister in the State.

Abiodun however issue a stern warning that any landlord or property possessor found harbouring criminals in the state would be vehemently dealt with under the law.

He spoke on Monday August 6, 2019 at his Oke-Mosan office, in Abeokuta, the State capital during a Press briefing on the issue of security in the  State.

The Governor assured that his administration would ensure that the State is secure for the peace and tranquility of the people to remain intact.

Abiodun, who expressed deep regret over the recent kidnapping of a minister RCCG along Ogbere road, reiterated that the State would not be a safe heaven for criminals or criminology in any form, adding that any criminal caught operating in the State would be prosecuted.

The Governor insisted that the Gateway State would be a hell for criminals to thrive as he equally pledged to make the State a paradise for those with legal businesses.

He revealed that a bill had been passed at the House of Assembly for stiff penalty to any form of crime.

His words, “Let me use this opportunity to sound a note of warning to our landlords and property owners that any property or facility found serving as hideout for criminals will not only be taken over, but will also be demolished and the landlords will be arrested and prosecuted.

“Ogun State will not be a safe heaven for criminals and criminology in whatever form whether on Lagos-Ibadan express road or anywhere in the State, even in and out township and interstate roads. We shall arrest them and hand them over to the police.

“For people with legitimate business, we assure you that Ogun State will continue to be a paradise, but for people with criminal tendencies, this State will be a hell for you to thrive”.

The Governor appealed to people of the State to support his administration and security agencies in the pursuit of peace and eradication of criminology in the State.

Hear him, “If you have any information about any criminal in this State, please report to the necessary agencies. Those criminals are not ghost, they are human beings and are living with us and we must find them out”.
