Remo North LG Prepares ICT & SKILL Acquisition Centres For N-Power Programme

ISARA-REMO: In preparation for the 3rd phase of applications, for the Federal government of Nigeria job creation programme, tagged N-Power Batch (C), which has been one of the Federal Government Social Intervention Programmes, Remo North Local Government, Isara, has embarked on the, 3-Rs of; Resuscitation, Renovation & Repairs of the two abandoned Information Communication Technology, (ICT), & Skill Acquisition Centres, at Afotamodi Townhall, Isara, Ogun State.

According to a release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Akinyera Busola, Information.Officer, Remo North LG, Isara-Remo, the LG Transition Committee, under the able Chairmanship of Hon. Abiodun Somoye, during one of their meetings with the LG HOLGA, Directors & Departmental Heads, had set up a Committee on ICT, to inspect and make recommendations on how to put the centres, in good working conditions, beneficial to the people of the LG, especially the youths, for proper learning & IGR purposes.

The equipment/items, at the Information Communication Technology, (ICT), Centre, Afotamodi, Isara, were donated, in the year 2013, by the National Information Technology Development Agency, (NITDA), to the Remo North LG, with modern Information gadgets, which included Computers, Computer Printers, Inverter, Photocopying Machine, Grandxtra Binding Machine etc, as part of Rural Information Technology, (RIT), for the purpose of manpower development & training of the LG personnel, including interested dwellers of RNLG, on computer literacy.

However, the place had been abandoned, for some years, now, but with the coming on board of the present RNLG Administration, since January, 2020, Hon. Somoye, had deemed it fit to put, in place, the necessary machinery, in order to resuscitate, and put in good use, some abandoned LG projects.

They include ICT & Skill Acquisition Centers, LG Grading machines, maintenance and control of the flood, ravaging the existing structure of the LG National Programme on Immunisation, all of which the various Committees, that were set up, had already inspected, and invited qualified Engineers, from different fields, who had already started working on all the projects, for the identified necessary useful purposes, most importantly, this year 2020 Batch (c), N-Power, Federal government Job creation Programme.
