Don Advises Govt To Stop Paying Lip Service To Education

For any country to have effective economic and technological development, such a country must stop paying lip-service to its education sector and put everything at ensuring that the sector work efficiently and it’s always at its best.
A Professor in the Department Of Education Foundation And Counseling of the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, Professor Taiwo Edun, gave this advice while delivering a keynote address at the 2017 Afolabi Olabimtan Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony held on Friday October 27, 2017 at the Table-Tennis Hall of the Recreation Club, Ilaro, headquarters of Ogun West.
He described the Scholarship Award as an event to discover, encourage and promote brilliant indigent students in primary and secondary schools towards the development of education across Yewaland.
Prof. Edun who praised the organizers of the yearly Afolabi Olabimtan Foundation for maintaining the Late Sen. (Prof.) Olambitan legacy adding that all tiers of government should put everything at ensuring that education across the country is accessible and affordable.
The Don however enjoined well-meaning individuals to support the foundation and that those that have benefited from the good gesture of the foundation to form an ALUMNI, saying, this will enable you to give back to the society apparently to complement the gesture of Afolabi Olabimtan Foundation by giving hope to students whose parents do not have financial might to acquire education the benefits of being educated.
