Save Our Children’s Life From Dilapidated Structures Of Igboore High School – Ogun Community Cry Out To Gov.  Abiodun

The residents of Igboore community in Abeokuta South Local Government area of Ogun State has cried out to Ogun State government to help save the lives of their children’s from the dilapidated condition of Ignore High School, Abeokuta.

According to residents of the community, the school was one of the high school established in the State capital in 1979, and it serves many communities within Abeokuta metropolis.

While speaking with  the newsmen, recently in Abeokuta,  one of the elders and resident of the community, Chief Biola Bada said: “the school has been in the terrible conditions for over five years now.

“Ever since then, the community heads, Parents and Teachers Association have written several letters and with many pictures of stages of different deplorable conditions of the school infrastructure to government at all levels in the State.

“But there hasn’t been any response to our letters from the government”.

Chief Bada stated further that, despite the community’s several attempts  made so far, they have not received any support for the school from any government official or politician.

He noted that “the school is  seriously in need of help on infrastructures and educational materials.

Chief Bada lamented that, “as big and thickly populated the school is, it is sad to note that it has no functional toilet, and portable drinking water for the students.

Also speaking with the newsmen, another parent of some students of Igboore High School, Mrs. Abike Lawal, said:  “condition of the school is very pathetic and not conducive for learning.

“This deplorable condition of infrastructures in the school is greatly affecting the learning process of the students of the school”.

Mrs. Lawal confirmed that “Whenever it’s rains, the students do  feel discouraged to come to school because classrooms are always flooded.

“Students always seating on bare broken blocks,  no chair and table for students and teachers, even in one or two classrooms, there are no doors and windows.

“Students are now exposed to cold and it’s very annoying and aching for parents seeing our children shivering with chattering teeth, which sometimes landed students in the Hospital“.

The Igboore Community people however appeal to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to  kindly come to their aid by fixing the deplorable conditions of Igboore High School in Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun State.

Ever since its establishment, it was gathered, the school has produced many well-meaning Nigerians.

A visit to the institution shows that Igboore High School, with a total number of almost 2,000 students, from both Junior and  Senior Schools has now become a shadow of itself, and a serious threat to lives of the students and teachers.

No doubt, the present deplorable condition of the school, especially now that we are in the raining season requires urgent attention.

The residents passionately called on government at all levels in Ogun State to take an urgent measure with a view to rehabilitate the school and safe students and teachers from likely disaster in the school.
