ISARA-REMO: The Community Based Targeting Team, (CBTT), of Remo North Local Government, Isara, Ogun State, met with the Chairman, Hon. Abiodun Somoye and members of the LG Transition Committee, for the purpose of sensitization, moral and logistic support, towards the capturing exercise of the Social Register for the poor and vulnerable people, in each community, within the Local Government area.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Akinyera Busola, Information Officer, Remo North LG, Isara, in his opening remark, the Desk Officer of the programme, who happened to be the Head of the Community & Social Department of the LG, Comrade Osunsanmi Folarin, informed Hon. Somoye and members of his Transition Committee that the Ranking and Listing of all the communities, in the LG area, totalling Fourty-Two, had been done, for necessary Tablet Programming, from the rural to urban center, based on already established certain criteria.
These area according to him include Orile Oko, Akaka, Ilara, Ipara and other communities, down to Isara, the LG headquarters, as those that had already been assessed and captured for the exercise.
Comrade Folarin, who deplored any political intervention during the exercise, sought for both moral & logistic assistance of the LG, for hitch free and successful exercise.
The Desk Officer, disclosed that the Local Social Register (LSR), to be generated, would form part of the State Social Register, (SSR), to be forwarded to the National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), Abuja, as part of the Federal Social Register (FSR), which could be easily accessed by the three tiers of government and other non-governmental organizations, for any future social intervention, for the poorest of the poor and vulnerable, in Remo North LG area.
The Chairman, Hon. Michael Abiodun Somoye in his speech, pledged full support to the Community Based Targeting Team (CBTT), adding that the programme must be widely publicized in the Local Government, through the Community Development Associations and Traditional rulers, in each community.
The Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), Mrs Bola Oshin, also implored all members of the CBT TEAM to be diligent and truthful on the field, in order to come up with fruitful and time testing Local Social Register, (LSR).
Comrade Folarin, finally presented members of the LG Community Based Targeting Team (CBTT ) to the Chairman, members of the Transition Committee and the HOLGA, for recognition.
