Ogun PDP Stalwarts Advocate Harmony Among Members Ahead Party Congress

ABEOKUTA: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Assembly Candidates in the last general election on Monday, January 20, 2020 appealed to members of the party to settle the rancour that exist among them in order to earn success come 2023 election.

They made the appeal through a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Niyi Sylvester during a meeting held at the party’s Secretariat in Abeokuta, the state capital.

Sylvester also appealed to the party influencers to, as a matter of necessity plead with all aggrieved members to install sanity in the party.

The lawmaker who is the only PDP member at the State House of Assembly argued that the party could only win the next election if the leaders allow peace to reign.

He called on all the PDP members across the 236 wards to start preparing for the coming congresse of the party, bearing in mind that the Congress would unite factions.

Sylvester, who expressed passion for the party emphasised  the need for people with leadership capacity that could move it forward in 2023.

His words: “They should look for people that have the leadership capacity that can move the party forward in 2023. If there’s any aggrieved members, they should go to such and beg them and bring them back to the party so that we can have a peaceful Congress.

“Those to be elected as Chairman and Secretary will be those that have the capacity to move the party forward.  For the PDP to win election in 2013 we must lay a solid foundation.”

Sylvester insistd that,  ” The only way we can have electoral success is to elect good leaders.”

He lauded Senator Buruji Kasamu and Engr. Bayo Dayo for doing a thorough review of the last election and discovering that to win the next election, they must start from the Congress, calling on all the party leaders to stand by it at this point in time.
