ABEOKUTA – As Muslim faithful prepare for the Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has deployed 2,720 of its personnel to provide adequate security before, during and after the festive period.
The Commandant of the Corps, Hammed Abodunrin disclosed this to newsmen in Abeokuta on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 during the meeting of the Command’s management.
Abodurin directed all formations of the Corps in the State to ensure the safety and protection of lives and property of all residents in their domain before, during and after the festive period.
The Commandant reiterated the need for all hands to be on deck, particularly considering the pandemic which is still roving around us.
He noted that Eid-el-Adha festival is all about patience and urge all to celebrate with moderation.
His words, “We must abide by all laid down protocols regarding COVID-19 and also ensure that everyone is made to obey the enabling laws for the good of all”.
He explained further that the command had also tactically repositioned the counterterrorist, agro-rangers, intelligence/surveillance and the disaster management teams among others for this task so people could celebrate with all sense of moderation and simplicity.
The Corps will also be collaborating as usual with other sister security agencies to protect the good people of Ogun State.
Abodunrin then wishes all the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-el-Kabir and equally prays that we all celebrate more of it Insha Allah!
