Normalcy Restored In Ogun NURTW As Iyeru Appointed Acting Chairman

The lingering crisis bedeviling the Ogun State National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has come to an abrupt end as the Ogun State Committee On Transport confirmed Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin (a.k.a Iyeru) as the Acting State Chairman.

The Committee was earlier set up by the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun with sole responsibility to ensure that the crisis among the Union’s stakeholders is amicably settled.

The parley, led by the Union’s National President Alhaji Usman Nojeem Yaseen, was held in Abeokuta, State capital among the Stakeholders from both the National and State leadership of the Union.

During the parley, the Committee reached an agreement that Bodunrin becomes the Acting State Chairman while the immediate past Chairman, Alhaji Akeem Adeosun popularly called JANGO moved to the National Secretariat as the National Trustee.

A statement jointly signed by members of the Committee indicated that Bodunrin would now steer the affairs of the NURTW pending the time substantive election would be held to fill all the available offices.

According to the release, the move was to foster unity among the Stakeholders and ensure security of lives and properties at different parks, garages and the State in general.

Stakeholders present at the parley also included Akeem Bankole (Alameda), Keshinro Monsuru (Sir Kesh) and Yusuf Murtala amongst a host of others.
