ABEOKUTA – Following commencement of the payment of minimum wage to the civil servants in Ogun State at the weekend, the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN), Ogun State Chapter, said the payment would made the civil servants to renew their trust in government.
The State Chairman of ASCSN, Comrade Olude Isa Owolabi disclosed this during a thank-you visit to Governor Dapo Abiodun at the arcade ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, the state capital.
Olude said the state government action showed that it has a listen ears to the yearnings of the workforce, saying the government is the best in the South West.
His words: “I want to thank the people’s Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for paying the minimum wage. The commencement of the minimum wage in October shows renew trust in government by our members. Ogun State is better in South West and the government is listening government.”
The ASCSN boss however urged the government to ensure that all matters in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with the labour unions are done.
Owolabi therefore appealed to the workforce to redouble their efforts in discharging their duties in order to develop the State, urging them to be more dedicated to their jobs.
He stated further, “We want to appeal to the government that all matters in the MoU are attended to.
“i want to also charge our members to redouble our efforts for the development of the state because we are first in everything”.
