Ex-Ogun Deputy Gov. Salmot Badru, Speaker, Oba Olugbenle, Imam Adewunmi, Others Advise Muslim Faithful, Warn Youth Against Ritual Killings (Photos))

ILARO-YEWA – A call has gone to Muslim faithful to always include the western education into the education of their children.

The former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Badru stated this on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at the turbaning ceremony of the new chiefs of Ilaro Central Mosque, Ilaro-Yewa, which took place at Morcas, Itolu Road, Opposite 2nd Gate, Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro-Yewa Ogun State.

Badru was of the opinion that combination of Western education with Islamic study will enhance the intellectual competence  of their children anywhere they find themselves in the future.

She however commended some Muslims that have already included Western education in the training of their children, saying this step would pay off in the nearest future as the children will be able to stand shoulder high with their counterparts anywhere in the world.

Her words, “I want to implore our Muslim brothers and sisters to make sure their children go to school with a view to becoming lawyers, doctors, proffessors etc.

“This will give them the opportunity to become more successful in life and they will be able to stand shoulder high with their counterparts anywhere in the world.”

Alhaja Badru also used the occasion to advise parents to monitor their children from joining bad gangs in the country.

She lamented the recent sad events where under age children are involved in killing innocent people for money rituals.

While advising the youth to desist from engaging in dastardly acts, the former governor also reminded them of the law of Karma, saying, “what goes round will surely come around.”

She prayed that God shall continue to guide and direct Nigerian youths in the right way.

Badru commended the Chief Imam of Ilaro Central Mosque, Imam Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi and the Ilaro Muslim community for the ongoing construction of the new Ilaro Central Mosque, saying she is happy for the appreciable level of the place of worship.

While promising to contribute to the quick completion of the Mosque, Alhaja Badru called on all those who believe in God to support the project towards its completion on time.

Alhaja Badru however, congratulated the newly turbanned Chiefs of Ilaro Central Mosque, and also advised them to always discharge their responsibility with the fear of God and always seek and preach peace wherever they found themselves.

In his own speech at the event, the immediate past Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi advised the Muslim faithful to always contribute to the ongoing project of the new Ilaro Central Mosque.

Rt. Hon. Adekunbi who was the Chairman of the occasion, but was represented by Alhaji Gaffar, his former SSA noted that the best house on earth is the place of worship.

He was of the opinion that every structure will perish, but the place of worship to God will not perish, saying every believer should contribute towards the building of the sanctuary.

Alhaji Gaffar also called on the parents to monitor their children and discourage them from joining bad gangs in the society.

He described the recent trend among the youth who are desperate to get rich quick as bad development, and he urged the parents to take decisive steps to discourage their children from it.

In his sermon on the occasion, the Guest Lecturer at the event, Sheik Naimudeen Akewusola, the Chief Imam cum Missioner, Nawair-Ud-Deen Society, Yewa Chapter, urged the Muslim faithful to worship Allah as directed by the Holy Qu’ran.

Sheik Akewusola reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace, saying every practitioner should practise it as stipulated in the Holy book.

He also counselled those engaging in ritual killings to desist from the dastardly act, saying Allah abhorred those killing fellow human beings for any reason.

The Islamic cleric noted that whatever we do, either hidden or open, shall be used to judge everybody, stressing that some sinners would even start to pay for their sins before they died.

Also in his message at the event, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, Asade Agunloye IV who was represented by the Asipa Olu of Ilaro-Yewa, Chief Taofeek Akano Fagbenro and the former Chairman, Yewa South Local Government who is also the Okanlomo of Ilaro-Yewa, Alhaji (Chief) Hon. Sunmola Adewale commended the Yewa Muslim Community for their tolerance with other religious organisation in the region.

Oba Olugbenle was of the opinion that religion is meant to unite humanity and that it should not be used as a weapon to destroy ourselves.

The first-class monarch also used the occasion to urge parents in the area to monitor their children and wards from joining bad gangs that always lead to dastardly acts in the society.

He lamented the recent involvement of kids in ritual killings and other nefarious activities.

Oba Olugbenle however urged the youths to desist from any act that may jeopadise the good plan God has for them, saying whatever we do, either in the open or secretly would surely come to the open and the Law of Karma will prevail.

The monarch commended Imam Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi for his quality administration of the Muslim community in the area, and prayed that God continue to give him the wherewidal to pilot the gospel till eternity.

Oba Olugbenle also congratulates the vnewly turnbarned Muslim chiefs and urged them to be good ambassador of Islam.

Earlier in his welcome address the Chief Imam of Ilaro Central Mosque who is also the Chief Host at the event, Imam Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi disclosed that duty of the new chiefs is to propagate the gospel of Islam and remain good Ambassadors of the religion wherever they may find themselves.

Imam Adewunmi disclosed that before the new chiefs were turbanned the committee responsible for the screening of the chiefs at the Ilaro Central Mosque had scrutinised them and found them to be responsible Muslims that were worth the honour.

He however wished the newly turbanned chiefs good health and long life.

The newly turbanned Chiefs are Alhaji (Chief) Pham. M.A. Lawal (Seriki Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque); Alhaja (Chief) Serifat Basorun (Balogun Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque); Chief Sadudeen Idowu Adeosun (Basorun Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque); Alhaji (Chief) Nasiru Akanji Akinbami (Sarumi Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque); Alhaji (Chief) Abdul Mumeen Akolawole Adebimpe (Arowosadinni of Ilaro Central Mosque) and Chief Adijat Adebisi Samusudeen Alimi (Sanmori Adinni of Ilaro Central Mosque).
