IWOYE-YEWA: Christians have been charged to at all times contribute and generously donate financially towards the development of churches and propagation of Christianity.
The Archdeaconry of the St. Paul’s Church, Iwoye Parish headquarters in Yewa South Local Government of Ogun State, Venerable Oluwole Oduyebo gave the advice during the confirment of Chieftaincy tittle of ‘Balogun Obinrin Ijo’ on Chief (Mrs.) Temitope Asabi Adesina and some other members of the church on Saturday, November 9, 2019.
Reading from the Holy book, Peter 1, Chapter 5, Ven. Oduyebo who advised Christians not to relent at contributing to the work of God pointed out that, whatever they contribute was for their own good and usage, adding that contributing to the propagation of God’s work and emancipation of the people comes with lots of benefits.
The cleric urged the new chiefs in the church to endeavor as part of their responsibilities look after the welfare of members of the church, while praying that God Almighty would provide them with wisdom from above to stir the church affairs.
Ben. Oduyebo urged them to use their new position to win souls for Christ, while enjoining them to always be good ambassadors of the church and shinning examples to people within and outside the church.
Responding to a question from StarTrend Int’l magazine Chief Adewale Adesina, fondly called Mr. Wale Saranda, and the Babalaje of Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun state, said he was happy that the church bestowed such important honour on his wife.
Wale Saranda however promised to build a six-block of classrooms for St. Paul’s Primary School, Iwoye-Yewa in memory of his late mother, Chief Elizabeth Olufunke Durosinmi, fondly called during her lifetime Iya Abiye, who was also the Iyalode of Iwoye-Yewa and Iya Kanka of Idofoyi Ayetoro-Yewa.
Contributing, the new “Balogun Obirin Ijo of St. Paul” promised to live up to expectations of the church by working towards the progress of the “House of God”.
Other new chiefs include Chief Adediran Akindele (Baba Ijo); Chief (Mrs.) Princess Kikelomo Owoyele, nee Akinleye (Iya Ijo); Chief Kehinde Akinyemi (Baba Ewe); Chief (Mrs.) Felicia Kehinde Akere (Otun Iya Ijo); Chief Julius Alani Adebiyi (Baba Egbe Isokan); Chief Atanda Adeniyi (Balogun Ijo); Chief (Mrs.) Iyabo Ayo Ade (Iya-Egbe Isokan); Chief (Mrs.) Christiana Odeyemi (Otun Iya-Ewe); and Chief Babatunde Akinyemi (Baba Egbe Afadura Jagun).
