Amosun Counsels Corps Members Against Deviant Acts

The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has urged members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), serving in the State, to shun acts that could jeopardise the fulfilment of their one year mandatory service to the nation.
According to a release signed and made available to the media by Dolapo Jinad, Press Officer Ministry of Youths and Sport, Governor Amosun gave this advice recently at the closing ceremony of 2018 Batch ‘ B ’ Stream II Orientation Course, held at the Orientation Camp, Sagamu International Stadium, Sagam, Ogun state.
The Governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, said the State Government and NYSC have put in place entrepreneurship skills acquisition and motivational programmes that would prepare them for self employment after their service year.
His “Here in our State, we are so much keen about engaging our youths because of our zero tolerance for deviant acts. It is our belief that the strength of our nation and the perpetuity of our national glory can only be accomplished with our youths being involved in the nation building process.
‘’It is imperative that our youths are prepared for their future roles, as leaders in all spheres of human endeavours. Starting from now, I charge you to begin to explore ways of contributing your own quota, to the socio-economic development of our dear State and Nigeria at large’’, Amosun submitted.
The State Coordinator, NYSC, Mrs. Josephine Bakare, commended the State and Federal Governments for financing the scheme, adding that Corps’ Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme, was a rewarding initiative, she therefore urged the corps members to maximise any skill acquired during their service year, as this would enable them to become employers of labour.
