IBADAN: The Afenifere Renewal Group has announced the postponement of the 70th birthday celebration of its Chairman, Hon. Olawale Oshun.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Kunle Famoriyo, Publicity Secretary to the Planning Committee, this decision was taken as accordingly advised by the celebration’s Planning Committee, headed by Chief Olusegun Odegbami MON, following extensive consultations and consent of the celebrant.
“The postponement, which we have mulled since some days ago, has become inevitable in keeping with proposed measures of containing the spread of the coronavirus.
“We ask all invitees and by extension all Nigerians to observe government directives as we all join hands to keep our country and our people safe.
“We however call on government to spare no proactive measure to ensure the situation does not degenerate beyond what currently obtains. A new date for the celebration will be announced later.”
