ILARO-YEWA: Towards the economic growth and infrastructural development of communities across Yewa South Local Government, the Transition Chairman of the council area, Alhaji Ramon Fagbenro has assured members of Community Development Committee (CDC) in the Local Government of government adequate supports.
Alhaji Fagbenro who gave the assurance during the maiden anniversary and presentation of awards ceremony of Odo-Osun Alaagba Area Community Development Committee in Ilaro, headquarters of Ogun West, pointed out that his administration would not relent at providing necessary infrastructures needed to aid the development of the Local Government area and at the same time give adequate support and encouragement to the CDC.
The Transition Chairman who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, (SLG), Hon. Haruna Dada, fondly called Ayedogbon, while appreciating members of the CDC for their contributions to the development of communities in the area, urged them not to relent on their oars, but continue the good job for the benefit of every members of the communities and the Local Government at large.
In the same vain, the Director of Community and Social Development in the Local Government, Mrs. Tayo Ajibola, congratulated the awardees and members of the CDC and appealed to the awardees to continue doing the needful in the service to humanity, while she advised other members in their various communities to emulate them.
Mrs. Ajibola assured Odo-Osun Alaagba Area Community Development Committee that the authority of the Local Government would continue to give them the necessary support
needed to encourage them and fastrack development of the various communities in the council area.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Chairman of the CDC, Mr. Olufemi Fagbohun while appreciating the supports of both the State and the Local Government, promised that the CDC would continue to contribute to the growth and development of their various communities and support the government at making life more meaningful for the people of the area and the state at the large.
On his own, the Father of the Day, Chief Safarudeen Popoola implored members of the CDC to continue to use their money for the benefit and development of their communities, stating that government could not do it alone; hence the formation of the association.
Chief Popoola however sought for the financial and moral contributions of members to assist the government in the development of communities while he prayed that God would continue to provide for them in all ramifications.
Appreciating the association, one of the awardees, Mrs. Oluwakemi Balogun of Amazing Grace Community Development Association, expressed her happiness for the honour done to her, saying, “I feel very elated and happy because, I never knew that the community was watching me. I was just doing my own and contributing to the development of my community.
“In actual fact, I am not an indigene of Ilaro, but I built my house here and I leave here. I thanked members of my community and the entire people of Ilaro for this award”.
Mrs. Balogun who promised to continue to contribute to the development of her community advised those who were not doing same to start contributing to assist the government, adding that doing so would help various communities to have fast and rapid development.
“I want to advice those that are not contributing to the development of their communities to have a change of heart. Where you came from doesn’t matter, you should take care and contribute to the development of anywhere you find yourself. I am contributing my quota; people should contribute to their community not minding where they comes from”, Mrs Balogun posited.
