ABEOKUTA: In line with the agenda of the Ogun State government to rehabilitates the economy and in particular the state education sector, the Rotary Club of Nigeria has pledge to support the educational sector and ensure community development in the State through Corporate Social Responsibility effort.
The new Rotary President of Oke-Ona Egba Club, Rtn. Joseph Santa during his installation ceremony held at NUT in Abeokuta.
He said the club has always been known for providing succor to the less privileged in the society would look at the areas of improving the infrastructural facilities in the some part of the state, adding that youths empowerment, provision of boreholes would not be left out.
Santa, who promises to mobilized members and put resources together at making the schools environment conducive for teaching and learning, said his administration would not disappoint the confidence repose in him.
“I will mobilise my members, put resources together and manage it better to help humanity. I will make sure education, community development and youth empowerment are my priority” Santa said.
Speaking earlier, the Mother Of The Day, Chief Mrs. Bola Obasanjo, wife of the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, described the Rotary Club has been a organisation that has always been rendering service to humanity and the helpless in the society, saying that she was highly impressed about the achievement of the club.
“I am impressed with what Rotary Club achievement in Ogun State which is a way by which job can be created for the people. I also want to encourage your children to emulate the kind gesture of the club, by doing so, the country will be rejuvenated” Obasanjo said.
The event was witnessed by the Oshile of Egbaland, Oba Tejuoso and Rotarians from all walks of life, within and outside the country.
