Cornell Entertainment Consult (CMC), the organisers of the celebrated yearly CMC Africa Awards, an award dedicated primarily to celebrate men and women who had excelled in their respective callings has expressed their gratitude to those who stood by it towards the success of the event.
According to release signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.star trend international.com by Babatunde Segun Odubanwo, Head, Media and Publicity, CMC, on behalf of Ambassador Cornel Udofia, Group Head, CMC Group, the event which was held on Sunday August 21, 2019, at King’s Celia Hotel in Jibowu area of Lagos attracted leading icons in the entertainment industry, top media executives, high ranking officials of government and the ever-supportive media practitioners.
In its fourth year, the CMC Africa Awards remain true to its founding values which not only eschews mediocrity, but endeavours to promote the spirit of patriotism and advocates for persistent drive towards perfectionism in all that one does.
Like the previous years, this year’s edition of the CMC Africa Awards themed: “Galvanising New Framework In Tackling Security Challenges” was carefully selected in line with ongoing security concerns as experienced in the country.
The awardees which numbered about 27 received their plaques with an expression and hope to serve their communities more.
Amongst recipients of the awards include: Alhaji Lateef Jakande (first civilian governor of Lagos State) who bagged Lifetime Achievement Award of Excellence; but was ably represented by his son; Prince Adebisi Olatilo, a veteran broadcaster and CEO, BISCON TV also decorated wiith Lifetime Meritorious Service Award of Excellence; Keppy Ekpeyoung, an ace actor and entrepreneur; Babajide Otitioju as the Most Outstanding Media Personality of the Year; Super Screen as the Most Consistent Long Standing TV station of the Year and Planet FM 101.1 as the Most Outstanding and Creative Station in South-South Region of Nigeria.
Others are CP Zubairu Muazu, Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, ably represented by the PRO of the Lagos State Police Command; Mr. Odita Sunday, President, Crime Reporters Association of Nigeria (CRAN) as the Most Outstanding and Creative Media Strategist of the Year 2019; Alhaji Mannir Yari, Deputy Comptroller of Immigration/Passport Control Officer (PCO), Ikoyi Passport Office as the Most Proactive Immigration Officer of the Year among a host of others.
The highlight of the event was the launching of the CMC Magazine which received tremendous and generous donations from the launchers. Also, the unveiling of the Ivorian trio- The Three Wise Men who had came all the way from Ivory Coast to participate in the epoch making event.
The event would not have been complete without nuggets from talented acts like MC Ojemba (comedian par excellence), Don Leo (Musician) and Princess Amaka Okafor for her sonorous rendition of the Nigerian National Anthem.
