LAGOS, NIGERIA – The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) is advancing its development projects in Festac Town, Lagos.
The ongoing road rehabilitation on 1st Avenue is set to extend to 11th Road as part of the initial phase of the project.
In addition to roadwork, the FHA has begun installing solar-powered street lights from 1st Gate to 11th Road.
They are also reconstructing the 1st Gate entrance and the security house within the estate.
Palliative road work has commenced on 2nd Avenue, and the FHA has provided security enhancements by deploying 40 armed mobile police officers from the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
These officers will be stationed at the Festac Town waterworks on 22nd Road and will support the existing Festac Town Divisional Police Station.
Also, the FHA has supplied Toyota Hilux jeeps for the operational duties of the new police personnel and has requested additional officers from the Inspector General of Police to improve security across FHA housing estates in Lagos.
