FCMB Accused of Withholding Money Intended For Dying Customer – Family Seeks Help

Prince Bassey, a social media user, has raised allegations against First City Monument Bank (FCMB) for allegedly failing to release money intended for his younger sister’s urgent medical bills, potentially endangering her life.

Bassey shared his distress on LinkedIn, expressing concern that his sister’s life is at risk due to the alleged actions of FCMB.

He claimed that the funds meant for medical expenses were sent to FCMB through the WorldRemit platform on August 12.

However, the Bank has reportedly not deposited the money into his account, despite repeated appeals from Bassey.

According to Bassey, he contacted FCMB multiple times to address the delay and emphasized the urgency of the situation.

However, the Bank’s response allegedly remained vague, with representatives stating that they were investigating the cause of the delay and the holdup of the funds.

Bassey criticized FCMB for what he perceived as lackadaisical behaviour and a failure to provide clear explanations for withholding the money.

He expressed his concern that FCMB’s actions were not in line with ethical practices, especially given the urgency of the situation.

WorldRemit, the platform through which the money was sent, reportedly confirmed that FCMB received the funds on the same day.

Bassey shared his frustration on social media, urging his connections to help him request FCMB to release the funds meant for his sister’s medical treatment.

His posts expressed his desperation for FCMB to provide a genuine reason for the delay and release the money.

Bassey even indicated that if any harm came to his sister due to the situation, he held FCMB responsible.

He pleaded for assistance from the LinkedIn community to bring attention to his plight and pressure FCMB to release the funds promptly, as they were intended for the critical medical care of his hospitalized sister.
