DUBAI-UAE – Group Managing Director, Kennedy Uzoka has said that United Bank of Africa (UBA) remains the foremost Bank in Nigeria as it officially established a branch in Dubai directly from Nigeria.
Uzoka stated this, recently during a press briefing at the launch of UBA in Dubai.
His words, “Having been in operation for over 73 years with a strong franchise out of Africa, we have remained the only sub-Saharan Bank with an operational license in the United States, and global offices in France and the United Kingdom.
“However, the equation is not balanced without Dubai. The whole idea is to make sure that our customers are served regardless of where they operate in.
“With the establishment of UBA Dubai – DIFC, the Bank is presently operating in twenty-four countries on the four continents.
“The birth of UBA Dubai – DIFC“ is in line with our vision: global in outlook and competence, African by heart and knowledge, and a bridge to the world economy.
“Over the years, the Gulf, especially the UAE have become an important hub for global trade and also a trade gateway for Africa.”
He continued, “UBA Dubai – DIFC will serve our customers across the Middle East with a core focus on correspondent banking, trade & Treasury, whilst harnessing the opportunities the region has to offer to unlock our untapped economic potential and support the next phase of our continent’s development
