ILARO-YEWA – A call has gone to people to always remember that death is inevitable to all the living souls and that it would come when it must.
Pastor Idowu Olusona, the Pastor in charge, Redeem Christian Church of God, Winner’s House, Ogun Province 7 Headquarters, Iyana-Egbo, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun state said this in his sermon on Friday, December 17, 2021 at the funeral service for the late Chief Lawrence Adebisi, the retired Chief Librarian of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
The cleric picked his sermon from the book of Hebrew, chapter 9 verse 7, urged the congregation to always remember the last day on earth, saying anyone can die anytime, anywhere when the time comes.
He noted that it’s sad to note that some people lived their lives as if they’re not going to die, adding it’s better people move closer to God through Jesus Christ.
Pastor Olusona also urged the congregation to be good to whoever comes their way in life, saying, “Doing good to people is not lost as the gains would come at when due.
“Death is not even the end of life. Like Chief Lawrence Adebisi that many people are now giving testimonies about what he has done while alive. We must continued to do good to the people around us so that people will give good testimony about you when the end comes.
“And should also remember that there’s judgement on whatever we do on earth. Either good or bad, the law of Karma would surely prevail.”
He described the late Chief Adebisi as a kind man and God-fearing person who according to testimony of the people at his wake keep and the burial service confirmed this attribute.
Pastor Olusona however called on the congregation to emulate the virtues of the deceased who served God with his wealth and put smiles on the faces of those who came across his path.
He pray that God grant the decease PD eternal rest and give this wife, children, grandchildren, friends, relations and sympathizers the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
