ABEOKUTA – Oba Abdulateef Atanda, the Olofin Adimula of Ado-Odo in this interview with AbuSatar Hamed opens up on the new dawn at Ado-Odo. Excerpts.
Recently, we heard of your return to Ado-Odo, why did you leave?
I wasn’t sent away from Ado-Odo. There was a crisis in which I sustained injury, and was admitted at Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta, for treatment. And. now that I am hale and hearty, I must return home.
What do you have to tell the people Ado-Odo? I am asking for their cooperation in moving Ado-Odo forward. They should forgive each other and feel free to acquaint Kabiyesi with whatever grievances they have for amicable settlement.
How do you want the State Government to assist you?
I have to thank the Governor for the approval for the construction of one of our roads. I am begging our governor to please direct the contractors to
ensure prompt execution of the road project as well as the Ikoga road. Governor Dapo Abiodun should as a matter of urgency rescue us from the pangs of the bad Owode-Ilaro road. The road has become worse in recent time.
What is your opinion on the in-fighting between the Eguns and Aworis under your rulership?
I am not aware of any conflict between the two. Perhaps I have not been informed. Moreso, the Eguns and Awori I knew in Ado have been living in peace.
How will you like to advise them?
I am appealing to all tribes in Ado-Odo; Egun, Egbado, Awori to continue living in peace because it is only in a peaceful environment that development can thrive. I urge all my people in Ado-Odo to be peace loving and tolerate each other.
