NSCDC Frowns On Indiscriminate Use Of Its Insignias, Says COVID-19 Protocols Must Be Observed In Ogun

ABEOKUTA: The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command has condmed the irregular, unauthorised, indecent, fraudulent and nefarious acts of abusing its official insignia such as stickers, emblems and badges amongst others.

According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Dyke Ogbonnaya, State Public Relations Executive, For: The State Commandant, the State Commandant, Commandant, Mr. Hammed Abodunrin, while addressing this issue at the management meeting Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, vowed to deal decisively with anyone who is found to have been indiscriminately and fraudulently using such insignias in a manner capable of undermining the good will, reputation and understanding which the Corps enjoys from the public.

Commandant Abodunrin therefore warns all motorists, tricyclists, motorcyclists and other road users to desist from such undesirable acts.

According to Abodunrin, this will be tantamount to impersonation and other offences which are punishable under various laws of the land.

He equally revealed the command’s readiness oblige fora for public education on commercial drivers and commuters across the State to see to the end of criminality in these untoward acts.

The State Commandant declared, “I have been duly informed of the high level of indecency in the use of the Corps insignias in the State and I want to warn that this behaviour, whether intentional or due to ignorance should be stopped forthwith to avoid any regrets as the Corps will henceforth arrest and prosecute such offenders across the State”.

He added however that all COVID-19 protocols in the State and that of the Federal governments’ must be observed to the letter to avoid communal spread of the virus thereby flattening the curve of the pandemic amongst the Ogun people.
