ABEOKUTA: The Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC), Ogun State chapter has joined citizens of Ogun state to felicitate with the state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on his 60th birthday anniversary and one year in office as Governor.
IPAC, an umbrella of all political parties, described the governor as an exemplary leader who has the love of the people at heart, saying that that history would not forget the Governor’s celebratory works.
A statement signed by the Committee’s Chairman, Asiwaju Adesina Abdul-Lateef Adedamola in Abeokuta, the state capital on Thursday, May 28, 2020, stated that Abiodun emerged at a time when the citizens salivated for the dividend of democracy and clamoured for justice.
Adedamola stressed that IPAC was not only applauding the dexterity and quality leadership skills of the governor, but also congratulating the citizens for having a rare gem, sailing the state ship down the ocean for a destination of change they yearned for.
He said, “IPAC is not only applauding your dexterity and quality leadership skills, but also re-congratulating the people of Ogun for having a rare gem like you, sailing ship of the state down the ocean for a destination of change they yearn for and your immeasurable and innumerable achievements within the space of 12 months.”
The Chairman wondered whether the country’s democracy day fixed on May 29 was as a result of the Governor’s birth.
His statements also reads, “Amidst life intricacy for the dear people of Ogun state, when they salivated for the dividend of democracy and clamoured for a Messianic government that would bring about regeneration in the state, there emerged from the sea of the East, a people-oriented and iconic figure sent by the omnipotent deity to give succor to the people.”
The statement added, “IPAC congratulates you on this landmark birthday and commend the leadership qualities you exhibited as the Executive Governor of Ogun State and so far the number one citizen.
“At 60, you recorded several landmark achievements as a man of the people who fears God and the law. These accomplishments have no doubt shown through as you hold forte for the people”.
Adedamola listed rejuvenation of the health sector, radical and rapid rehabilitation of the educational sector, resolutions of the lingering 48-month crisis of Tai Solarin College of Education in Omu-Ijebu as some of the laudable achievements of the Governor.
Others, he said were, rebuilding the paralised Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) in Abeokuta, the ongoing construction and reconstruction of roads in all the three Senatorial Districts amongst many others.
Describing Abiodun as a man of vision and enviable leadership traits, Adedamola noted, “That the state now ride on the same lane with Lagos due to its rich and reforbished economy which has made the state centre of attraction for local and foreign investors.”
