ILARO-YEWA: Chief Imam of the Ilaro Central Mosque, Ilaro-Yewa, headquarters of Ogun West, Imam (Sheik) Tajudeen Mustapha-Adewunmi has sent messages of congratulations to the Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dapo Abiodun on the occasion of his One Year Anniversary in Office and 60th Birthday Anniversary.
The adminstration of Governor Dapo Abiodun will be one year on Friday, May 29, 2020, the day he will also clocks 60 years in this world of rat race.
According to the Islamic schorlar, while answering questions from journalists in Ilaro, commended Governor Abiodun for evenly distributing appointment to the three senatorial districts of the state, saying, “I want to use this medium to congratulates Ogun state Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on the occasion of his One Year in Office and 60th Birthday Anniversary.”
Imam Adewunmi who described Governor Abiodun as a friend of Muslims in Ogun State prayed that God continued to guide and protect the Governor and his family, including members of his cabinet.
His words, “I must confess that the Governor is so friendly with the League of Imams and Alfas in the state like his predecessors, and we are very happy.
“Governor Abiodun has told us that he is a friend and lover of Islam, and we prayed for Allah’s continued blessings over him and his entire family.
“I want to advise that his administration should try as much as possible to do what people want, by providing good roads, quality education, accessible good health facilities and other masses-oriented programmes.”
Imam Adewunmi commended the state government on how it’s tackling the issue of coronavirus pandemic in the state, stressing, he was impressed on how Governor Abiodun urgent creation of the isolation centres and how the governor handled distribution of palliatives to indigents citizens in the state.
The Muslim cleric who advised religion leaders in the state not to disturb the Governor, stated that there were so many challenges that the Governor is tackling across the state; hence the need to allow him concentrate and provide quality leadership that everybody would benefit and be proud of.
While urging Muslims to demosyrate and adhere to the principles and lesson acquired during the just concluded Ramadan fasting, the Chief Imam implored everyone to be conscious and mindful of the day of judgment, adding, “coronavirus pandemic was a signal from God and a yellow card that we must all be careful and have fear of God and the fear of Al-Kiyamoh.”
Imam Adewunmi also advised citizens of the Ogun West and the state at large to adhere strictly to all guidelines and measures put in place by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Federal and state government in their concerted efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
