Zack Orji Applauds President Tinubu’s Bold Reforms, Achievements At Nigeria @65 Celebration in Manchester

MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM, October 11, 2025 – Veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji, has lauded the performance of President Asíwájú Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending his courage and achievements within just over two years in office.

Speaking at the 65th Nigerian Independence Anniversary Celebration organized by the Nigerian Community Greater Manchester (NCGM) in the United Kingdom, Orji described President Tinubu’s leadership as “bold and transformative,” noting that his administration has achieved significant milestones in key sectors.

According to him, President Tinubu’s decisions to remove fuel subsidy and float the Naira have redefined Nigeria’s socio-political and economic landscape.

“Although these policies were initially criticized, Orji said they have now begun to yield positive results, citing comments by World Trade Organization Director-General, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who confirmed that Nigeria’s economy is stabilizing.

“Myself, Ahmed Bala – the president of our group – and Raymond Jefferson have been monitoring the President’s performance closely. At two years in office, we recorded 222 achievements, and as of today, that number has risen to 301”, Orji disclosed.

The actor further applauded the administration’s intervention in the education sector, particularly the introduction of a student loan programme that allows Nigerian students to access interest-free loans repayable two years after securing employment.

“For the first time in Nigeria’s history, students can fund their education without fear. This is a great development”, Orji stated enthusiastically.

He also highlighted that, under Tinubu’s government, Nigeria recorded a net export surplus – a first in the nation’s economic history – where exports exceeded imports.

“When this happens, Nigerian products become three times cheaper in the global market, boosting exportation and strengthening our currency”, he explained.

Orji added that the administration is implementing policies to ensure that foreign manufacturers establish production bases in Nigeria, using local raw materials and exporting finished products from the country – a move he said would significantly enhance Nigeria’s socio-economic growth.

The veteran actor and his delegation expressed deep appreciation to Alhaji Abiola Kumoye, Chairman of the Nigerian Community Greater Manchester (NCGM), for his dedication and leadership in overseeing a community of over 250,000 Nigerians in the region.

They commended the NCGM members for being law-abiding citizens and good ambassadors of Nigeria, urging them to continue supporting the federal government’s efforts to lift the nation out of hardship.

Responding, Alhaji Abiola Kumoye thanked Zack Orji, Ahmed Bala, and their team for honoring the community’s Independence Day celebration, describing their presence as a “moral booster” to the NCGM leadership and members.

“Your visit shows appreciation for our efforts in Manchester. We assure you and the government back home that Nigerians here will continue to promote the good image of our nation wherever we find ourselves”, Kumoye said.

He also revealed plans to pay a courtesy visit to President Tinubu in Nigeria, as a mark of solidarity and continued support for his administration’s vision for national progress.
