ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Secretary of Yewa South Local Government, Comrade Abduljabar Ayelagbe, has urged students to take control of their future, declaring that they are “the masters of their fate and captains of their souls.”
Ayelagbe made this statement on Monday, August 5, 2025, during his visit to the Ilaro Centre of the Yewa People Development Council (YPDC) Summer Coaching Programme, held at Oronna High School, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.
In his address, Ayelagbe emphasized the value of discipline, self-worth, and determination in achieving personal goals.
“It’s gladdening to see young minds eager to learn and grow”, he said, adding that today’s Yewaland and Ogun State offer immense opportunities for those who are prepared and focused.
He encouraged the students to adopt a positive mindset, harness their talents, and steer clear of distractions that could derail their progress.
“With the right mindset and focus, you can fulfil your life’s purpose and create meaningful change – not just for yourselves, but for your families, our community, and the nation”, he said.
Ayelagbe’s visit was part of broader efforts to motivate and empower the youth through education and mentorship initiatives in the region.
