The Yewa Youth Assembly (YYA) has extended heartfelt congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on becoming the 16th President of Nigeria.
In a release e-signed,and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & online – www.startrendinternational.com by Omooba Malumba S. Oyedele, the National Coordinator of YYA, the group commended President Tinubu for his remarkable achievements and unwavering determination within a very short period he assumed office.
The release, titled “Ogun and Pains of Excision,” acknowledges President Tinubu’s track record in using power to bring about positive transformation, as exemplified during his Governorship in Lagos.
However, the YYA also draws attention to the long-standing marginalization faced by the people of Yewaland in Ogun State, even before the state’s creation.
The YYA emphasizes that Yewaland has yet to produce a Governor since the state’s creation in 1976, and executive positions, particularly ministerial slots, have not been given to the region.
While other senatorial districts in Ogun State have been rotating the ministerial slot, Yewaland has been left behind in terms of infrastructure development.
The group urges President Tinubu to use his influence and human capital development expertise to address this imbalance and consider renowned technocrats who are worthy candidates to represent Yewaland for substantive ministerial positions.
The YYA reminds President Tinubu of the last time Yewaland produced a Minister, which was under the late General Sani Abacha in 1997.
They expressed their hope that President Tinubu will take action to rectify the situation and bring about positive change for the marginalized region.
Besides, YYA once again congratulates President Tinubu and expresses gratitude for his considerate attention to this matter.
