ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Olugbenle MFR, the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland has affirmed the region’s unwavering backing for the Nigerian Police and its personnel.
Oba Olugbenle, who stated this speaking during the official visit of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NP, to traditional rulers in Yewaland, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, hailed IGP Egbetokun as a source of pride not only for Yewaland but also for Ogun West, Ogun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
Expressing gratitude for the IGP’s visit, the Asade Agunloye IV, representing the Yewa Traditional Council, assured continued prayers for the safety and success of the police force under Egbetokun’s leadership.
In response, IGP Egbetokun thanked the traditional rulers for their support and reiterated his team’s commitment to maintaining peace and thorough policing in the area and beyond.
IGP Egbetokun announced plans for the establishment of a Police Mobile Force base in the Ogun West Senatorial District to combat criminal activities and secure the borders in the region.
Accompanied by top officers including Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Olatoye Durosinmi and State Commissioner of Police (CP) Abiodun Alamutu, the IGP engaged with critical stakeholders during his three-day official visit to Ogun State.
Also present at Oba Olugbenle’s palace to welcome IGP Egbetokun were the Aremo of Yewaland, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), Apagunpọ̀tẹ̀ of Yewaland, Ọ̀túnba Akeem Adigun (Socopao), Aṣíwájú Titus Babajide (Oppressor), Asoju-Oba Olu of Ilaro, Chief Muftau Olabimtan and Chief Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, members of the Olu Ilaro-in-Council, and various prominent individuals from the community.
