LAGOS – The management of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB), has alerted its customers and the general public on the wrongful use of image of one of its branches by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to a statement e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine and online – www.startrendibternational.com by Tolulope Onipede, the Bank’s Head of Corporate Communications, the Bank acted on the heels of an Officer of an unnamed Bank who was arrested in Abuja for hoarding the redesign new naira notes.
The statement reads, “We refer to the attached image of a GTBank branch in Abuja used in a social media post by EFCC to narrate the arrest of a Bank official in an unnamed commercial Bank due to cash hoarding.
“Please note that whilst the image used is that of a GTBank branch, no staff of ours was arrested in connection with cash hoarding. EFCC officials visited our Area 3 and Area 11 branches today and no infraction was found against the Bank.”
The statement further stated that GTBank has “reached out to the Head of Public Relations at EFCC who has promised to rectify this.”
