Wessy Creations Describes Oronna Ilaro Festival As Socio-Economic Catalyst, Congratulates Oba Olugbenle, Senator Yayi, Ilaro Community On Successful 2025 Edition

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The Chairman of Wessy Group, Otunba (Dr.) Wasiu Jaiyeola Taiwo, popularly known as Wessy Creations, has described the annual Oronna Ilaro Festival as more than a socio-cultural celebration, noting that it significantly boosts the economic fortunes of Ilaro and its environs.

Speaking in a post-event interview with Abu-Satar Hamed of StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online Platform, Otunba Taiwo expressed gratitude to God for the steady improvement witnessed in each edition of the festival.

He highlighted the festival’s economic impact, explaining that tailors benefit from increased patronage as residents, clubs, and associations request various styles and designs, while traders record high sales throughout the celebration.

According to him, the combined socio-cultural and economic value of the event continues to make Ilaro more attractive to investors.

Otunba Taiwo commended the Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented at the event by the Minister of State for Culture and Art, for its unwavering support through various programmes and projects in Ilaro-Yewa.

He also applauded Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was ably represented by his deputy, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Oloyede, for his developmental strides, especially within the Ilaro-Yewa axis.

Wessy Creations congratulated the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle MFR, Asade Agunloye IV; Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, representing Ogun West; the Chairman of the 2025 Oronna Ilaro Festival Central Planning Committee, Chief (Pharm.) Lekan Asuni, and all committee members, as well as the entire Ilaro community for the successful hosting of the 2025 edition.

He praised the royal touch of Oba Olugbenle, which he said added elegance and prestige to the festival and attracted dignitaries, sons, and daughters of Ilaro-Yewa from far and near.

As a former Chairman of the Oronna Ilaro Festival Planning Committee, Otunba Taiwo extended heartfelt appreciation to Senator Adeola Yayi for his moral and financial support to the committee, noting particularly his instrumental role in securing the presence of the Deputy Senate President, who attended the event alongside over 49 Senators.

He also thanked the good people of Ilaro-Yewa, including clubs and associations, for turning out in large numbers to join Oba Olugbenle and the Olori Omotola Olugbenle in celebrating the town’s revered heroes, especially Oronna.

Otunba Taiwo further commended Chief (Pharm.) Lekan Asuni and members of the planning committee for their dedication and selfless service.

Tailor to who’s who in Nigeria, Dr. Wasiu Taiwo, who also serves as the National President of the Tailoring Association of Nigeria (TAN), added that the memories of the weeklong festival – filled with colourful and fun-filled activities – will remain cherished by residents and guests alike.

The grand finale of the one-week celebration, which began on Saturday, November 8, 2025, was held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.
