We Will Take Appropriate, Far Reaching Steps To Improve Nigerian Football – Dare

ABUJA: The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Sunday Dare is determined to take steps and measures to improve sports particularly football in the country.

This is sequel to recent defeats suffered by Nigerian football teams in various competitions across the football world.

Both the Flying Eagles and the Golden Eaglets failed to progress beyond the second round in the FIFA U-20 and U-17 football competitions while the Falcons and the U-23 Eagles failed in their bids to secure the tickets for the football events in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

In view of this, the Sports Minister held a meeting with the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) on Monday, November 18, 2019, to find lasting solutions to the problem facing the football body and take steps towards improving Nigerian football.

In a Tweet after the meeting, the Sports Minister said, “Yesterday I led the Ministry of Youth and Sports in a meeting with the NFF. A single agenda meeting: to provide an explanation to the country as to why we suffered several failures recently – towards taking appropriate and far reaching steps to improve Nigerian football”.
