WASSCE: Ogun Govt. Charges Candidates To Produce Best Result

ABEOKUTA – Ogun State Government has charged all the candidates sitting for the year 2020 West African Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in the State to reciprocate government’s gesture by producing best results in their coming examinations.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo who made this call during a joint Monitoring Team of Ministry of Education Science & Technology, (MOEST) to Imeko-Afon Local Government Area of the State said if the students were to be successful in life, they must study hard and remain focused.

The Special Adviser, urged the students not to allow cultism, truancy and youthful exorbitance distract them from fulfilling their dream of becoming great leaders of tomorrow.

“I implore you to work hard and work smart, do not be distracted by boys, cultism, drugs, smuggling and the rest, as this will jeopardise your future. This is the stage where you should encourage yourself and strive to be a better version of yourself everyday”, she implored.

Soyombo also enjoined principals and teachers to double up their activities, adding that students should be divided into smaller groups like ten in a class to enhanced assimilation as well as engaged in serious, effective and result orientated revisions, saying this will make them understand more and perform up to expectations.

Speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Mojisola Dosunmu, represented by the Director of Information, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya submitted that the State Government has done a lot by providing all the materials needed for safety of the students according to the NCDC guidelines, which according to her has resulted into enthusiasm among the students.
