IJEBU ODE: The Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, has condemned the circulation of a malicious video content few days ago in respect of the distribution of COVID-19 RELIEF MATERIALS/STIMULUS PACKAGES donated by Ogun State Government to the people of Ijebu Ode Local Government.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Tope Oyekan, Director, Information, Education and Sports, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbile described the inglorious act of the girl, as the handiwork of the opposition. .
The release stated that “The visual put together by one Idowu Adekoya, a resident of Idogi Quarters in Ijebu Ode, was released into the public domain via the social media, with the intent of maligning the Government of Ogun State, and the Governor, Prince Dapo ABIODUN, as several invectives were poured on the Governor, by the culprit and her collaborator.
“Adekoya also used various unprintable words on the Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, led by the Chairman, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile.”
While reacting to the development, the Chairman, Transition Committee, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile said, “I am however glad to inform the entire public, in particular, the good people of Ijebu Ode Local Government, that after a well-coordinated intelligence-gathering efforts, the perpetrator of the slanderous act was eventually identified and she subsequently surrendered herself.
“She has since produced another video, where she pleaded for forgiveness, over her earlier ignoble act. She went further to state that the beans which she claimed was not suitable for public consumption, was actually consumed by herself and her family, after being made into a bean pudding (moinmoin).
“We know those behind the shameful act, but we leave them to almighty God. They only want to discredit the Governor, because they are envious of his rising profile and acceptability among the people, due to his good deeds”.
Engr. Olugbile however expressed gratitude to Gov. Abiodun for his kindness and sincerity of purpose, as reflected in the flexibility of the Lockdown rule.
He also urged all genuine and true sons and daughters of Ijebu Ode Local Government not to allow themselves to be used as agent of destruction and division.
“I hereby use this medium to appreciate the concerns shown by the good-spirited people of Ogun State, including colleagues and associates in the local government service, and the media industry; friends, family, and the Governor’s kinsmen from Iperu Remo. Their calls and messages shortly after the video began to circulate was well acknowledged and applauded. I specially commend the Head of Local Government Administration, Ijebu Ode Local Government, Dr. Adeolu OLUFOWOBI, for providing the needed leadership.
“While thanking you for standing by the truth, I pray that the ravaging Coronavirus pandemic shall soon be conquered, and thus, become a thing of the past,” Engr. Olugbile posited.
