ABEOKUTA – Dr. (Mrs.) Matilda Iyabode Apampa who turns 73 today, (August 6, 2021) has expressed her gratitude to God for the grace she has received to be alive to witness the day.
A veteran politician, philanthropist, religious leader and advocate for women empowerment, Chief (Mrs.) Apampa is a member of the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun’s Governor’s Elders Council, a member of the apex body of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, former member of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the first Woman Chairperson of the Odua Group of Companies.
She has been Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of many Federal and State Governments’ Agencies and Former Commissioner for Education in Ogun State.
Apampa has had many awards and laurels bestowed on her; including honourary doctorate award from the Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijebu-Ode.
For her outstanding roles in Community Development, Chief (Mrs.) Apampa was recently nominated by the Olu of Ilaro & Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba (Dr.) Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle as the Ilaro-Yewa Community representative in the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
