LAGOS, NIGERIA – Veteran Nollywood actress Jumoke George has opened up about the colleagues who stood by her during one of the most difficult periods of her life, when she was living in a church.
In an interview shared on the official YouTube channel of Biola Adebayo Ent TV, George recounted how she often went to actor Afeez Owo’s house whenever hunger became unbearable.
She explained that she would leave the church and head to Afeez’s home just to get something to eat.
She said, “When I used to stay in the church, I was very hungry, and I went to Afeez Owo’s house to eat.”
Jumoke George also recalled a moment when she had to approach actress Biodun Okeowo for financial help.
According to her, “There was a day that I had to go beg actress Biodun Okeowo for money when I was hungry, and she gave me 30,000 naira.”
Reflecting on her struggles, she added, “A lot of people used to see, but they didn’t know what I was going through at the time.”
