Trump Expresses Desire For Peace Deal With Iran, Says, “The Ball Is In Tehran’s Court”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his desire to reach a peace agreement with Iran, months after the United States joined Israel in carrying out strikes on the Islamic Republic’s nuclear sites during a brief conflict earlier this year.

Speaking before Israel’s parliament on Monday, October 13, 2025, Trump said it would be “great” to achieve a peace deal with Tehran, describing it as a step toward long-term regional stability.

“They got it from one side, from the other, and you know it would be great if we could make a peace deal with them,” Trump said, referring to Iran – a key supporter of the Palestinian militant group Hamas.

“Would you be happy with that? Wouldn’t it be nice? Because I think they want to”, he posted.

Trump emphasized that the next move lies with Iran, suggesting that the U.S. remains open to negotiations.

“We’re ready when you are”, he added.

The Republican leader also defended his earlier decision to withdraw Washington from the Iran nuclear agreement brokered under former President Barack Obama – a deal that had long been a contentious issue in U.S.-Israel relations.

“I terminated the Iran nuclear deal and I was very proud to do it”, Trump stated.

Despite his tough stance, Trump extended an olive branch, saying that even Iran – whose regime he accused of spreading violence across the Middle East – could find “friendship and cooperation” with the United States.

“They want to make a deal and we’re going to see if we can do something”, he said.
“Neither the United States nor Israel bears the people of Iran any hostility. We merely want to live in peace.” – AFP
