… TAN Leaders Applaud Ogun Chapter’s Progress, Urge Continued Commitment

ILARO-YEWA, OGUN STATE, NIGERIA – The former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraj Adekunbi, has highlighted the critical economic relevance of the tailoring profession, affirming that “people will always need clothes to wear.”
Rt. Hon. Adekunbi made this statement on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, during the celebration of the 2025 edition of Tailors’ Day. The event was held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion, Empire Field, Ilaro-Yewa, Ogun State.
Now serving as Special Adviser to the Governor on House of Assembly matters, Rt. Hon. Adekunbi urged parents to ensure their children acquire at least one vocational skill in addition to formal education.
Rt. Hon. Adekunbi also pointed out the large membership base within the tailoring profession, advising that unity among members would help in taking the profession to greater heights across Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, the National President of TAN, Otunba Wasiu Jaiyeola Taiwo, applauded the association’s consistency and positive influence both in Ogun State and nationwide.
Otunba Taiwo, who is also the founder and CEO of Wessy Creation Vocational Institute and Continental Suite, lauded members for their creativity and craftsmanship, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence.
In his welcome address, Chief Sebili Hamed, Chairman of TAN Ogun State chapter, expressed heartfelt appreciation to members and guests for attending the occasion.
He encouraged tailors to stay committed to skill development and to remain united in their efforts to advance the association.
Both the National President of TAN and the Ogun State Chairman of the association praised the chapter’s achievements and urged members to remain dedicated to growth and excellence in the fashion industry.
The well-attended occasion, which brought together fashion practitioners and tailoring professionals from across Ogun State, was organized by the Ogun State chapter of the Tailor Association of Nigeria (TAN).
The event featured exhibitions showcasing members’ works, fashion parade, opportunities for networking, and engaging discussions aimed at enhancing professionalism within the fashion industry.
