…Reveals How She Once Hawked Olive Oil, Kunu, Zobo Drinks At MFM
LAGOS, NIGERIA – Super Falcons captain and Atletico Madrid star Rasheedat Ajibade has recounted her humble beginnings, revealing how she once hawked Olive oil, Kunu, and Zobo drinks during church programs at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), long before rising to football stardom.
Ajibade shared her inspiring story on Saturday, August 2, 2025, during the “Power Must Change Hands” service at MFM’s Prayer City in Ogun State.
Speaking to a large congregation, she testified to how faith, discipline, and hard work shaped her journey from street hawker to international football icon.
“Whenever things are tough at my club or with the national team, I pray. I do my part through hard work but never forget to seek God’s help”, she said.
Reflecting on her early days at the ministry, Ajibade added, “I was once one of those young girls out there hawking Olive oil, Kunu, and Zobo during deliverance programmes. But today, I give glory to God.”
The 24-year-old urged the audience never to give up: “Please, don’t give up. Keep praying, keep fasting, keep working, and keep believing.”
Ajibade, who captained Nigeria to its record 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title in Morocco, was named Player of the Tournament.
Though she scored just once, her leadership and presence earned her three Woman of the Match awards and widespread recognition.
Her story continued to serve as a beacon of hope and faith for many young Nigerians chasing their dreams.
