AGOSASA, IPOKIA LG, OGUN STATE – An urgent Save Our Soul (SOS) message has been dispatched to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Inspector General of Police IGP Kayode Egbetokun concerning the purported involvement of Alhaji (Chief) Akeem Adigun, the Apagunpote of Yewaland, and Governor Dapo Abiodun’s political appointee, Hon. Isiaka Aderohunmu, in a troubling incident that occurred recently, in Agosasa, Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Representing the aggrieved community, Mr. Omotoso Omolade in a statement he signed and made available to media alleged that, “with the backing of the Nigerian Police, particularly under the leadership of DPO Olaiya Martins of the Idiroko Division and DPO Effiong of the Ipokia Police Division, Aderohunmu led a group of hoodlums to attack the residence of Mr. Omolade Adisa Dauda at approximately 10:00 pm.”
Describing this as a distressing act reminiscent of past tragedies, Omolade highlighted previous incidents, including the kidnapping and murder of Mr. Omolade Kehinde in 2005 by individuals associated with Aderohunmu, indicating a disturbing pattern of violence and lawlessness.
Omolade recounted the swift intervention via social media platforms, which averted further harm to his father, Mr. Omolade Adisa Dauda, and his son, Omolade Lateef, who narrowly escaped harm at the hands of Aderohunmu and his associates, including Akeem Adigun (Socopao).
Emphasizing the paramount importance of citizen safety and security, Omolade stressed the urgent need for thorough investigation and decisive action to ensure justice is served and to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Highlighting the lack of prosecution for past offenses, including the murder of Amosun Nafiu, Omolade urged the intervention of relevant authorities, international organizations, and human rights activists to address the unjust detainment of his father and to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.
