…Says, Sickness Is Not Tinubu’s Matter, It’s Everybody’s Matter
…Gives Kudos To Tinubu’s Sagacity and Influence In Nigeria’s Polity
LAGOS – An All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftain, Senator Akinseye Ogunlewe has said that he’ll prefer the presidency to come to the South-West, and that the APC National leader, Senator Bola Ahned Tinubu will be the best choice for the presidential ticket for 2023 general election.
The former Minister of Works & Housing who stated this recently while speaking on a live TV programme, “The Morning Show” on AriseTV, asserts that he’ll prefer the presidency to come to the South-West, and that the APC National leader, Senator Bola Tinubu will be the best choice for the presidential ticket for 2023 general election.
When Senator Ogunlewe was asked if the health status of the Bola Tinubu won’t be a challenge, considering the ups and downs the country faced during the reign of the late former President Umaru Yar’adua and now President Buhari due to their ill health while in power, he enthused, “..health challenges are common and normal for a person that is above 70 years, just let us wish him all the best of luck to survive.
“That he will not be sick it’s not part of human being, the life of human being is susceptible to sickness. So sickness is not Tinubu’s matter, it’s everybody’s matter, everyone who’s above 70, it’s either you are diabetic, it’s either you have hypertension, so you have to manage something.”
Ogunlewe however gave kudos to Bola Tinubu’s sagacity and influence in the current structure of government in Nigeria, making references to the ability of the South-West to occupy the position of Vice-President as well as the Speaker of the House of representatives.
His words, “in the history of this country, look at the composition of the structure of Nigeria, where is the Vice-President from? where is the Speaker from? Did it happen by accident? Is it not by somebody who is thinking behind the scene to place his own people properly in the structure of Nigeria, why can’t we give it to him, I’m marvel with the way he was able to achieve that because I don’t see it.
“I’ve been in the system, I can never believe substantial number of Northerners will vote for a Western Speaker where we have a Vice-President. I’ve worked with the Northerners for so long, for them to agree to that kind of structure we have in Nigeria today, give it to the man (Tinubu).”
