Seyi Tinubu Denies Controversial Statement On His Father’s Tenure, Says, “I Never Made Such A Statement”

FCT, ABUJA, NIGERIA – Seyi Tinubu has refuted claims that he made any statement regarding his father, President Bola Tinubu, completing eight-year tenure in office.

Recall, a recent report from an online newspaper (not StarTrend Int’l) alleged that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, declared that nothing – neither human opposition nor divine intervention – could stop his father from completing his eight-year tenure.

The report claimed that Seyi, in a recent interview, stated that Nigerians had their chance to oppose his father’s rise to power but failed to do so before he assumed office. It also alleged that he boasted about President Tinubu’s stronghold on government, dismissing any possibility of his removal.

According to the viral report, Seyi Tinubu was quoted as saying: “If Nigerians couldn’t stop my father from becoming president after Buhari, what makes them think he would lose now when he has full control as president?”

The alleged statement was interpreted as a show of confidence in the political dominance of President Tinubu’s administration.

In response to the viral claims, Seyi Tinubu has denied ever making such a statement. Taking to his social media via Instagram Stories, he categorically stated: “I never made such a statement.”

Despite the controversy, the report also mentioned that Seyi emphasized the need for national unity. He urged Nigerians to set aside political differences and work together for the progress of the country, stating: “Let’s all work together to bring out the best in Nigeria.”

His remarks, whether misquoted or not, have sparked widespread debate, highlighting the intense political climate in the country.
