Rotary Club Donates Hand Washing Unit/Basin, Others To PHC

ABEOKUTA – The Rotary Club of Abeokuta, District 9110, led by the Open Opportunities President, Rotarian Olukayode Oladipo in partnership with Professor Abayomi Oluwatosin Jiboku Foundation (AOJ) has donated hand wash sanitising unit/basin, infrared thermometers, face shields, masks, among other essential items to Oke-Ilewo Primary Health Care Centre, Opic roundabout, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

While handing over the items to the Health Centre, Past President and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Rotarian Olamilekan Lukan stated that the donations was part of the club’s commitment to the ideals, values and focus of Rotary International in the execution of selfless and humanitarian services.

Also speaking, the President of the Club for the year 2020/21, who was also a Paul Harris Fellow (PHF) of the Rotary International, Rotarian Olukayode Oladipo appeals to the management of the Health Centre to ensure sustainability of the partnership and make judicious use of the materials, noting that the Club shall be willing to provide more of the materials when the need arises.

He said that it was part of its commitment towards containing the spread of Coronavirus in Ogun, as the Club also donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), noting that the items would not only curtailing the spread of virus but enhance public awareness of the pandemic in the State.

Responding on behalf of the Centre Management, Pharm. Olufemi Ogunjere appreciated the club’s gesture, hailed the Rotary Club for its passionate commitment in its service to humanity.

He then implored the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and other philanthropic organization in the society to emulate and take a cue from the giant strides recorded by the Rotary Clubs in various communities.
