Pole Producers Strategies On Standardisation

In a bid to regulate and eradicate sub standard electricity poles in the country, Reinforced Pole Producers Association of Nigeria is beginning to educate Nigerians on the need to patronize standard pole producers
According to the Secretary of the association Deacon Abel Orji said, ‘‘we are not ready to compromise standard as the danger in buying sub standard electricity poles is more grievous than imagine.
‘‘We are appealing to government through Standard Organization Of Nigeria to help in the awareness campaign Reinforced Pole Producers Association, is the umbrella body for the production of electricity pole in the country.’’
The association is expected to start the enlightenment and awareness campaign on concrete pole production across the country in days ahead on the need for Discos and general public to know the implication of patronizing quack in the industry they should be sensitized to look out for products with MANCAP Mark, the trade mark of the association for better service delivery.’’
Also the chairman of the association, Engr. Oladele Arigbede, said, Standard Organization Of Nigeria should endeavour to visit all concrete pole producers across the country in other to ensure standardization in the industry.
While they should let the public know the danger of using unapproved poles.
