ABUJA, FCT, NIGERIA – Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has provided insight into his recent visit to break the Ramadan fast at the Maraba-Nyanya International Market Central Mosque in Abuja, was driven by a desire to understand the challenges faced by Nigerians enduring widespread hardship in the nation.
The former Governor of Anambra State in a statement released via his official platform on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, clarified that his presence at the mosque signifies unity and cooperation during the Ramadan season.
Obi further explained that he participated in the breaking of the fast to highlight the importance of leaders demonstrating responsibility and empathy towards their constituents.
He underscored the significance of leadership engaging with the real needs and experiences of the people, particularly during times of adversity.
“My team and I had the opportunity to share in the breaking of the Ramadan fast with approximately 1000 individuals at the Maraba-Nyanya International Market Central Mosque, symbolizing unity and cooperation during this auspicious season.
“These visits provide invaluable insights into the challenges faced by our people, many of whom are enduring monumental hardships at this very moment. They also underscore the imperative for leaders to exhibit responsibility and empathy towards those they serve.
