ABUJA: Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 presided over the National Council on Privatization (NCP), where power sector issues and comprehensive healthcare reforms were tabled.
According to a press release e-signed and made available to StarTrend Int’l magazine & www.startrendinternational.com by Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Office of the Vice President, Osinbajo, significantly, NCP today approved the preparation and presentation to President Muhammad Buhari and Federal Executive Council (FEC), a draft legislative instrument to enact the Health Sector Reform Bill and associated legislation.
The critical point, according to NCP is that Buhari administration’s proposed reforms will ensure that several millions of Nigerians who can’t afford to pay for it, would begin to receive efficient healthcare services once the new system takes off.
Members of the NCP include several Federal Ministers, the Central Bank Governor and the Director-General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) who is the Secretary of the Council.
