ILARO-YEWA, Ogun State – The Oluomo of Yewaland and Chairman of IBD Impex Ltd/IBD International Hotels Ltd, Alhaji (Chief) Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the upgrade of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro (FPI) to a Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI).
In a statement released by his spokesman, Elder Adetokunbo Fakeye, and made available to StarTrend Int’l Magazine and Online Platform, Chief Egungbohun – popularly known as IBD Dende – described the development as a momentous achievement and a major win for Yewaland.
“As Oluomo of Yewaland, I most sincerely, on behalf of the entire indigenes, extend our appreciation to Mr. President for this great gift”, IBD Dende said.
Chief Egungbohun also heaped praise on Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, for facilitating and championing the bill that led to the upgrade of the institution.
“I also commend our own God-given, industrious son of Yewaland, Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi (Aremo of Yewaland), who presented and facilitated the bill before the floor of the House”, he added.
IBD Dende also congratulated the Olu of Ilaro, and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland – HRM Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, MFR, and the entire people of Ogun West, noting that the elevation of the polytechnic to a university is a significant leap in the educational and socio-economic advancement of the region.
